From our beginnings in 2010 to CELESTRA today.
Our story began in 2010 with a simple idea: make astronomy more accessible through reliable instruments, practical engineering and close collaboration with the people who use them.
We began working in astronomy technology in 2010, building experience around telescopes, astronomical equipment and the needs of observers. Those early years established the practical, hands-on approach that still guides our work today.
As our experience grew, our engineering work expanded beyond astronomical equipment. We developed experience in electronics, opto-mechanics, software, system integration and specialized technology projects, including work and solution development for defence-industry applications. These projects strengthened our ability to approach demanding technical requirements as complete systems—from sensing and control to mechanical integration, software and field operation.
Our background combines astronomy with experience gained through defence-industry and advanced engineering projects. We have worked on technical challenges that require precision, reliability, system integration and practical problem-solving. This multidisciplinary experience continues to influence the way CELESTRA develops astronomical cameras, monitoring instruments, observatory electronics, automation and connected software.
Today, CELESTRA brings that experience into a focused technology platform for light-pollution monitoring, astronomical imaging, sky and environmental monitoring, observatory control and connected software. Our goal is to turn measurements and engineering into tools that help researchers, observatories, educators and astronomy communities understand the sky more clearly.
